Bali is gaining some well-deserved recognition as a hub for foodies and fitness enthusiasts. There are a number of yoga studios, beautiful villa retreats and healthy cafes making it the perfect destination for some well deserved R and R. Bali is no longer just a place where you can party but instead place you can fully dial down. and switch off. When I visited Bali last year I had only been alcohol free for a month and was slightly nervous as Bali had a reputation for being a party island. I was pleasently suprised to find that although there was plently of places to party up there were also some beautiful little beach bars and cafes where you could sit back relax and people watch whist sipping on some AF cocktails and trying out some incredible healthy dishes. Here are some of my favorite cafes in Bali.
Grocer and Grind- Seminyak
My favorite places to eat in Seminyak was this bistro/ cafe in Seminyak. Serving generous healthy salads, eggs any way you like, a selection of gourmet sandwhiches and so much more you are sure to find something you like. Im not a coffee drinkker myself but my parner said the coffeee was excellent.
Sisterfields Cafe- Seminyak
Sisterfields Cafe brings in the crowds with its great coffee, beautiful brunches and fresh fruit smoothies. Always busy with a buzzy atmousphere. If you are looking for something a little diffrent from the standard hotel buffet for breakfast then head to sisterfields and treat yourself to a one of their yummy Acai Bowls, some of their homemade Bircher freshly made salads.
Zula – Seminyak
This vegetarian paradise is fantastic. I am not vegetarian or vegan but the menu was full of tempting treats. Treat yourself to a perfectly presented platter, salad or smotthie bowl at this cute little hide away.
Shelter cafe- Seminyak
If you are looking for an incredible brunch at a trendy hangout spot then head to Shelter cafe Bali. There is a creative buzz in the air which matches the food perfectly. Plated beautifully the dishes are colourful, vibrant and full of flavour. You will want your camera at the ready to snap the instagramable food.
Clear Cafe – Ubud
Hidden behind a beautifully carved round door in the heart of Ubud is this amazing hang out spot. The cafe is renound for its chilled back vibe, incredible music and vast menu of clean dishes. There is a huge selection of refreshing juices and ‘tonics’ to choose from which can be enjoyed alongside one of the many brunch dishes available. The breakfast burrito was one of the best brunches I have ever eaten and the house salad was divine.
Watercress Bali – Ubud
We visited Watercress a number of times during our stay in Ubud as the food was fantastic. With a balcony overlooking the busy street this cafe was perfect for sitting back and people watching whist tucking in to some delicious healthy food. Expect interesting delicious salads made with fresh wholesome ingredients and mouth-watering deserts.
Alchemy – Ubud
This lovely cafe serves 100% raw vegan food and it is delicious. Choose from a selection of raw pizzas, salad wraps, nourishing bowls and yummy sweet treats. The decor is simple and clean offering a tranquil environment so you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the surroundings.
